U.S. Congressman Tom McClintock Backs Tenessa Audette for Assembly, Championing Limited Government
Congressman Tom McClintock, a long-standing advocate for limited government, has endorsed Redding Mayor Tenessa Audette for California State Assembly District 1. This district, one of the largest in the state, overlaps with three U.S. Congressional districts. McClintock becomes the second U.S. Congressman to endorse Audette, alongside Congressman Doug LaMalfa.
"Tenessa Audette is a champion for our traditional founding principles of limited government, fiscal responsibility, and individual liberty," McClintock stated. "She knows that we must safeguard our freedoms from the dictates of the radical left that controls the Legislature. Tenessa will fight against the crushing mandates that are robbing Californians of their freedom and will stand for a smaller government that is accountable to the people."
McClintock, a strong advocate for responsible forest management and wildfire prevention, is a senior member of the House Natural Resources Committee. He recognizes Audette’s shared commitment to safeguarding rural communities. Her focus on reducing government overreach aligns with McClintock’s efforts to protect individual freedoms while promoting policies that protect rural livelihoods and prevent wildfires. McClintock has long opposed higher taxes, excessive spending, and burdensome regulations, which he believes harm California’s economy. His endorsement of Audette reflects his confidence that she will continue this fight in Sacramento, prioritizing both public safety and limited, accountable government.
Audette continues to build support, with endorsements from two sitting U.S. Congressmen, four active sheriffs (from Modoc, El Dorado, Sierra, and Amador counties), and numerous county supervisors. She is also endorsed by Board of Equalization Member Ted Gaines and State Senator Shannon Grove. Her growing coalition demonstrates the confidence local, state, and federal leaders have in her ability to lead in Sacramento. Audette is the only candidate in this race endorsed by the California Republican Party (CAGOP), Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, and American Independent Party. In addition, Audette has received the endorsement of the California Rifle & Pistol Association (CRPA).
