Diane Dixon endorses Tenessa Audette for CA Assembly District 1

California State Assemblymember Diane Dixon has officially endorsed Redding Mayor Tenessa Audette for State Assembly District 1. Dixon, a longtime business executive and former Mayor of Newport Beach, who now represents the 72nd Assembly District, praised Audette’s focus on limited government and practical solutions.

“Tenessa Audette is the kind of leader we need in Sacramento. Like me, she understands that government should focus on doing less, but doing it better,” said Dixon. “I’ve fought alongside my colleagues to protect Californians from the overreach of excessive regulation and taxation—Tenessa shares that commitment to ensuring government serves its people without overburdening them. Her focus on practical solutions, rather than endless new laws, will be a breath of fresh air for District 1 and for our state.”

Dixon’s leadership has been instrumental in fostering fiscal responsibility and transparency during her time on the Newport Beach City Council, where she served two terms as Mayor. Her dedication to streamlining government while protecting taxpayers has defined her legislative priorities since joining the Assembly in 2022. She was selected to serve as Vice Chair of the Local Government Committee, Accountability and Administrative Review Committee, and Judiciary Committee, and is a member of the Assembly Committees on Appropriations, Business and Professions, Banking and Finance, among others.

Dixon’s endorsement emphasizes her readiness to partner with Audette in advancing responsible, limited government for all Californians. Her confidence highlights the tremendous support from respected state and local leaders who recognize Audette’s commitment to fighting for rural communities, reducing government overreach, and achieving efficient governance.

Dixon joins a distinguished list of endorsers, including Senator Shannon Grove, Assemblywoman Marie Waldron, and Board of Equalization Member Ted Gaines, along with the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, California Women’s Leadership Association, California Rifle and Pistol Association, Laborers' International Union of North America (LiUNA!), the American Independent Party of California, and the Republican Central Committees of Siskiyou, Nevada, El Dorado, and Placer counties.
