Tenessa Audette to Participate in Candidate Forum for Shasta Association of REALTORS
Tenessa Audette, Mayor of Redding and candidate for State Assembly District 1, will be participating in a candidate forum hosted by The Shasta Association of REALTORS this Thursday morning (August 15) in Redding, CA. The forum is exclusively for members of the association who received an email with attendance details inviting them to hear the candidates’ positions on issues pertaining to the housing market.
As housing affordability and availability continue to decline, Audette will speak about her values and vision to see a thriving California’s real estate market, focusing on the need for common-sense policies that will better serve realtors, homeowners, home buyers, home sellers, and renters across the state.
"California’s housing market is in crisis," said Audette. "Excessive regulations, soaring insurance premiums, and a costly permitting process have all but halted new home construction, leaving our communities with few options and inflated prices. It’s time to rethink these policies so we can restore the dream of homeownership and accessible housing in California. I look forward to questions from the real estate community on this important subject."
Shasta County realtor, J.R. McGee, with over 30 years of experience in the real estate market, expressed strong support for Audette’s candidacy, stating, "Realtors across California are struggling to effectively serve home buyers and sellers because our state government’s policies and regulations are killing affordability and making homes and rentals more expensive. The North State needs representation by a leader with a backbone who isn’t afraid to confront the status quo. I’ve known Tenessa for many years as her realtor, and have personally witnessed her ability to speak up in even the most political situations, and get results."
California Association of Realtors Executive Committee Member, Siskiyou County Board of Realtors Past President, & Shasta Association Member, Brett Anthis, had this to say on the topic, “From burdensome regulations, to point-of-sale mandates and rent controls, the California Legislature is driving up costs for everyday Californians and limiting the housing supply. I look forward to hearing the policy positions of candidates on how they will advocate for a housing market that better serves our region’s homeowners and families.”
Audette’s campaign centers on bringing practical solutions to Sacramento, focusing on reducing regulatory burdens, lowering costs, increasing housing inventory, and ensuring access to homeowners insurance. She believes that learning from other states with more efficient policies, such as those in the Midwest, can provide a pathway to making housing more affordable and accessible for Californians.
"I am deeply committed to representing the people of District 1 and advocating for policies that will revive our housing market and protect the interests of our communities," Audette said.
